This comprehensive initiative, which includes Scholarship is designed to provide essential support to children and young adults, ensuring they have the resources needed to complete their education and achieve a brighter future. Recognizing the additional challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this programme was developed with a deep understanding of the unique needs arising during these challenging times.

Need for the Programme

Private schools have gained popularity among low- to middle-income families seeking improved educational opportunities for their children. This demographic includes approximately 120 million individuals, with 70% of urban students attending private schools. Many of these families aspire to enrol their children in English medium schools and are often first-generation learners. However, the financial strain exacerbated by the pandemic has heightened the risk of school dropouts among these students.

The COVID-19 crisis has led to prolonged school closures, severely affecting not only children’s education but also their overall growth and social development. For students who are new to online learning, their families often lack the financial means, making it challenging to support home-based education. Limited access to data and devices has further complicated their ability to engage effectively with online learning resources.
